Maybe not so smart after all.
As someone who could/should “self-identify” as an intellectual (I don’t much care for sports and mundane gossip), I’ve always held the beliefs and sincerity of my intellectual compatriots in suspicion. Having lived in urbane and rural settings I can conclude that simpler people often have common sense insights that override the snooty appraisals of the erudite class. Farmers and mechanics often “get it right,” while intellectuals’ track records are more often than not, abysmal. Look at a high body count and you’re likily to see an intellectual behind the “plan.”
It’s no wonder to me that so many from the “educated class” often ally themselves with the latest authoritarian fad whether that be Nazism, fascism, or communism (“birds of a feather”).
This is an insightful article on the gullibility and nonsense from smart-land.

Impersonating an Elected Official…
It’s generally understood that one is committing a crime by impersonation a police officer or military personnel. I suggest we make it a crime for a lowly bureaucrat to impersonate an official elected fairly by the public. No one voted for the haughty nannies that regularly command and harrass innocent citizens. There is no place in the American constitution that affords a position for control freaks to boss the public around with edicts.
Make them adhere to a standard of simple functionaries. If they try to go beyond that, fire their asses and prosecute them for breaching the standards in our constitution and bill of rights.

I’m not a “follower” of Qanon. As much as I try to keep informed of “the news” — real and fake — I really don’t know much about it beyond general basics. Like “alt right,” it appears to be one of those blanket associations used to lable someone a crackpot. The insinuation may be fitting.
Issues involving a host of deviations in sexual “lifestyle” have hit the news cycle recently. Private perversions have become mainstream and we’ve moved from marriage of same-sex couples to pedophilia and even sex with animals. While the most outlandish deviations from stoic decency are becoming grotesquely mainstream (at least in media, entertainment, and “education), these permutations remain a very tiny niche of behavior in spite of cultural crusades in their honor.
THIS is actually a very intelligent article addressing a very creepy issue of our time.
To add fuel to this fire, I’m including a link to John Podesta’s “art” collection (update: in second thought, while the images may not be blatantly pornographic, it’s probably best to omit a link from my web site). One can see these abominations by merely doing a search for “images of John Podesta’s art collection.”
If one does a search for this grotesque topic, you’ll find plenty of apologetic “fact checks” (Democrat apologists) that seek to write it off for any number of reasons. As someone fairly knowledgeable in art history, I’m always disgusted on how some intellectuals will contrive bogus excuses for garbage masquerading as art.
In astrology (I know, I’m reducing my credibility with this association), the planet Pluto is an archetypal symbol of power and sexuality. It’s almost impossible to find issues of power not correlating in some way with sex, particularly more extreme expressions. I can’t really say why that is but there’s certainly a track record.
If you like “conspiracy theories” you may find the many analyses of Stanley Kubric’s “Eyes Wide Shut.” interesting.

The next time some stupid partisan journalist tells you that storms or temperatures are the most extreme in two-hundred years, ask what happened two-hundred years ago. Remember the Medieval warming period, the little Ice Age and Obama’s beach side mansion, and then tell the U.N. and other liberty vaccuums to find some other way to scam the public into giving up their autonomy.

The Non-Intellectual Intellectual
I realize that Tucker Carlson is basically a pop-journalist but when you listen to his ad-libbed remarks on serious topics it’s clear that you’re being exposed to a very wise observer of life. His takes on good vs. evil, order vs. chaos, beauty vs. ugliness, etc. are borderline profound.
I’d love to see him in a debate with Noam Chomsky (for example). No doubt they are probably on the same page on a variety of issues but Carlson lacks that academic polish that wins him a cult-following from the esoteric like-minded. Carlson operates more on the model of Mark Twain — wise and insightful but down to earth.
No doubt there are plenty of people who despise Tucker Carlson given that his message typically leans right on many topical issues of the day. But, when it gets down to basics, he effectively straddles the divide that partisan politics conjures.
I’d dare anyone on the left to read his comments unattributed and find them particularly disagreeable.
Fortunately, in a time of chaos, Carlson is a sane voice with wide exposure.
